This letter of gratitude was personally written by a former RAIN TLC resident. She and her three children were victims of traumatic domestic violence. We changed her name to protect her privacy. They recently moved into permanent housing and she is currently working full-time supporting her family. In this letter, she thanks RAIN staff and that gratitude extends to everyone that supports RAIN.
I want to give thanks and remind you at those times when you may feel your work is just a job, your presence is so much more to me and my children. I have come from a place of isolation resulting in a struggle to protect myself and my children with limited resources and very little hope. RAIN has become a place of support, stability and also provides a safe place for our family to recover. It is the bridge that will enable me to reach my goals professionally and financially. Here we can play, heal, and feel that people believe in us. Your participation and interaction are embedded in this healing process for me and my family. These differences will permeate through my children’s lives and their children’s lives. So when you might feel tired or frustrated or that your job is not what you perceive, please remember my thank you and you are a part of the life changing gift. And for those of you, who have taken the time to smile, acknowledge us with respect and a positive attitude, you enable us to create a stronger faith toward success. Thank you!
